Botanical Foundation

Rooted in Nature. Backed by Heritage.

We go beyond clean ingredients. Every botanical in our formulas is thoughtfully sourced for its origin, rooted in heritage, and harvested with care.

Yi Tiao Gen (active root)

Yi Tiao Gen (active root)

icon
Origin

A root native to Kinmen islands, in the Taiwan Strait. Wild-harvested rather than farmed at scale.

icon
Heritage

Local record traces its use back to the Koxinga era in the 1660s, when soldiers stationed on Kinmen are said to have first turned to the root for relief. It has remained a staple of herbal practice for hundreds of years.

icon
Harvest

Gathered wild in limited seasonal quantity, with roots typically harvested after three years of growth, in autumn and winter.

Lavender

Lavender

icon
Origin

Originally native to the Mediterranean. Since the 1960s, lavender has also been successfully cultivated in Asia — most notably in Yili, Xinjiang, now one of the world's four major lavender-growing regions alongside Provence and Hokkaido.

icon
Heritage

Its place in our range reflects a universal association with calm and sleep in modern herbal practice, including the more recent Asian cultivation that's grown alongside global demand.

icon
Harvest

Flowering stems are cut in mid-to-late summer at peak bloom, then distilled for oil.

Peppermint

Peppermint

icon
Origin

Peppermint itself is a European hybrid mint, but the broader mint family has deep roots in Asia — a related mint, Bo He, is a genuine, long-used Chinese herb valued for its cooling character.

icon
Heritage

Bo He appears frequently in classical Chinese herbal texts as a cooling herb.

icon
Harvest

Leaves are harvested at peak oil concentration, just before flowering, then distilled.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus

icon
Origin

Native originally to Australia, Asia is now the world's largest producer of eucalyptus oil by volume (around 70%) — the plant travelled the opposite direction to most of our other ingredients.

icon
Heritage

Used by Aboriginal Australians for centuries before European settlement. Introduced to Asia in the early 1900s, where it became part of local herbal medicine and oil production.

icon
Harvest

Leaves are harvested and steam-distilled; oil quality is measured by cineole content.

Such a great support for my sleep, I rub it on my wrists before bed and I have had better nights sleep since using it.
